Refund policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy applies to purchases from The Fourbuy Cart Comp (PTY) Ltd, trading as Fourbuy Cart Co. It explains deposits, cancellations, returns, refunds and warranty assistance. Read it together with your quotation, order confirmation, our Terms of Service and the written warranty for your product.
Nothing in this policy excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), where applicable.
1. Deposits and part-payment
A 10% deposit is required to secure a cart for allocation. The deposit forms part-payment towards the confirmed transaction and is credited against the agreed purchase price. It is not an additional charge.
Paying a deposit confirms your intention to proceed with the order. If you subsequently cancel, the amount refundable will depend on the applicable cancellation rights and any lawful cancellation charge. The description of a payment as a deposit or part-payment does not remove your statutory rights.
2. Order cancellations and special orders
Contact Dave as soon as possible if you wish to cancel an order. Please provide your order or invoice number and, where possible, confirm the request by email so that there is a written record.
Where the law permits a cancellation charge, we may deduct a reasonable amount from payments received. For an advance order covered by section 17 of the CPA, we will consider the nature of the goods, notice given, the reasonable opportunity to find another buyer and relevant industry practice. We will explain any deduction and refund the remaining balance. The full deposit is not automatically forfeited. No charge will be imposed where prohibited by law.
Genuine special-order or personalised goods may have different cancellation rights. Any applicable conditions will be explained before you commit. A cart is not automatically a special-order product merely because we obtain it from a distributor. Special-order conditions do not exclude applicable rights relating to defects, incorrect supply or non-delivery.
If we cannot supply the agreed goods, we will discuss an alternative or refund the payments received for those goods. We will not require you to accept a substitute.
3. Change-of-mind returns and cooling-off rights
We do not offer an automatic change-of-mind return after delivery outside applicable statutory rights, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Where section 44 of ECTA applies to an electronic purchase of goods, you may cancel without a reason or penalty within seven days after receiving the goods. Only the direct cost of returning the goods may be charged for that cancellation. Payments must be refunded within 30 days of cancellation. Statutory exceptions may apply, including to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Choosing standard options does not automatically remove your rights.
Other applicable cooling-off and return rights remain unaffected.
4. Defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods
Please contact Dave promptly if a product appears defective, unsafe, damaged on arrival or different from your confirmed order. Stop using it if continued use could be unsafe or cause further damage. We will help arrange an assessment and explain the next steps.
Where sections 55 and 56 of the CPA apply, goods that fail to meet the required quality standards may be returned within six months after delivery, without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense. For a qualifying claim, the consumer may direct a repair, replacement or refund, subject to the Act. This remedy is not solely the distributor’s decision.
We may reasonably inspect the goods to establish the problem and its cause. An assessment does not itself authorise a repair or remove your statutory choice of remedy. Signing a delivery note does not waive rights concerning defects that were not reasonably apparent on delivery.
Rights under other applicable laws and any additional warranty remain available.
5. Distributor warranties
Products carry the applicable written commercial warranty supplied by the relevant brand distributor:
- Denago EV South Africa: Jetman Distributors
- Arctic Leopard: Jetman Distributors
- Kandi: All Power
- Apium: All Power
- Smart Cart: Platinum Wheels
Claims under these commercial warranties are assessed according to their written terms. Where those terms permit, the distributor determines whether a covered claim is resolved by repair or replacement. Cover, exclusions, battery provisions and servicing requirements vary by product.
These warranties are additional to statutory consumer protections. They do not replace Fourbuy Cart Co.’s obligations as the seller, restrict a remedy available under law, or mean that your only recourse is against the distributor. We will assist you and liaise with the relevant distributor.
6. Returns and refunds
Contact us to coordinate any inspection, collection or return. This helps avoid unnecessary transport costs and does not make a statutory right conditional on our prior approval. Responsibility for return costs will depend on the reason for return and applicable law; qualifying defective-goods returns under the CPA are at the supplier’s risk and expense.
Where a refund is due, we will confirm its basis and amount and process it without unreasonable delay, within any applicable statutory deadline. We will not require you to accept store credit instead of a monetary refund where the law entitles you to a refund.
7. How to request assistance
Contact Dave on 084 881 9073 or email dave@fourbuy.co.za.
Please provide your name, contact details, order or invoice reference, product model and serial number if available, and a description of the issue or request. Photos or videos may help us assess a fault. If you cannot locate your invoice, contact us so that we can help identify the purchase.
We will explain the assessment, return or cancellation process and keep you informed of progress. If a complaint remains unresolved, you may approach the IDA for mediation or use another applicable statutory dispute-resolution route.
